Merry Wreathmas & Hoppy New Year too!

December 2017
Dear Friends & Members,

There have been some changes in staff and leadership this year at the park as it’s now run under the supervision of director Craig Cesare of the Hamden Department of Public Works Parks Division. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for so many projects completed this year to beautify the park and upgrade worn out facilities and amenities.

Ranger Vincent “Vin” Lavorgna will begin his 19th year as Park Ranger in January!

Eddie Colavolpe who was a fulltime maintainer at the park for many years retired. His exuberance and overall beloved craziness is missed. We wish him well as he starts another chapter in his life and we pray for patience for his wife!

Talented educator Susan Foster moved on to other pursuits and welcomed a grandchild this year as well. It’s reported Hamden’s teachers are missing her already.

Amy and Ali keep the animals well taken care of. John, Mike, Tom, Jesse, Peter and many volunteers take care of the buildings, grounds, garden and more.

Wally Comes to Brooksvale

Sadly one of our Brooksvale Bunnies, Dobby passed away in September. Wally is the newest member now and a sweet and gentle bunny.

Many thanks to all of you for supporting Friends of Brooksvale this year. Whether you became a member or made a donation, bought maple syrup or baked for the annual festival bake sale, gave of your time volunteering at our events or attended the Christmas wreath making workshop, YOU are the reason we are able to accomplish so much at the park.

Merry Wreathmas and Hoppy New Year too!
